Il logo ItalicArtBook sottende una manciata di amanti d’arte con preferenze per la grafica d’autore e per i “libri belli dentro e fuori”
come l’eccellenza italiana insegna. È noto, infatti, che in Italia
si consolida il bel libro a stampa già negli ultimi decenni del Quattrocento e con Aldo Manuzio raggiunge un apice sia estetico che contenutistico di rarissima qualità. La storia del libro induce a pensare che l’Italia è sempre stata all’avanguardia per una produzione di altissimo livello, toccando vette anche sul finire del Settecento con il catalogo di Giambattista Bodoni e la vasta gamma dei suoi elegantissimi caratteri di stampa.
La tradizione si è tramandata e ancor oggi c’è chi in Italia stampa manualmente e si dedica con passione al libro d’artista, inteso come fusione di parole e immagini, in un unisono in cui svettano pagine ispirate e preziose proprio per la loro intrinseca relazione.
È pertanto sembrato importante agli organizzatori di ItalicArtBook dedicare uno spazio alle eccellenze italiane del libro di stampa manuale, siano essi poeti e scrittori di vaglia coniugati con artisti anche del bulino e della sgorbia che ne sanno essere interpreti, purché diano frutti di raro pregio e qualità.

Underlying the ItalicArtBook logo is a handful of art lovers with preferences for author graphics and for "beautiful books inside and out"
as Italian excellence teaches. It is known, in fact, that in Italy
the beautiful printed book was consolidated already in the last decades of the fifteenth century and with Aldo Manuzio it reached an apex both aesthetic and content of very rare quality. The history of the book leads us to think that Italy has always been at the forefront for a production of the highest level, reaching peaks even at the end of the eighteenth century with the catalog of Giambattista Bodoni and the wide range of its very elegant typefaces.
The tradition has been handed down and even today there are those in Italy who print manually and dedicate themselves with passion to the artist's book, intended as a fusion of words and images, in a unison in which inspired and precious pages stand out because of their intrinsic report.
It therefore seemed important to the organizers of ItalicArtBook to dedicate a space to the Italian excellences of the manual printing book, whether they are poets and writers of merit conjugated with artists also of the burin and gouge who know how to interpret them, as long as they give fruits of rare value and quality.
